PRIVATE LESSONS (1)

Private Lessons are the number one way to improve. We recommend private lessons to children ages 7 to 17 and are a little more serious about improving their tennis. Private lessons are $60 per hour, and $30 per half hour. Please text Coach Antwan at (209) 993 5838 to set up time for a free evaluation and professional recommendation!

ST. LUKES AFTER SCHOOL (2)

The St. Luke’s After School Tennis Program is a special time for children who attend St. Luke’s School to learn tennis at OPTC. When school lets out at 3:00pm, enrolled children  walk to OPTC guided by St. Luke’s staff and volunteers. The children learn tennis using Red Balls and are introduced to the skills that are needed to learn how to rally with each other and play fun tennis games. Parents then pick their children up from OPTC at 4:15pm. fun and great exercise!

LEARN TO LOVE TENNIS(3)

The “Learn to Love Tennis” class is an introductory class for young children to learn the skills they need to rally with each other. This class is recommended to first through third graders. We use Red Balls, a mini-net, and small, 40 foot court to help the kids have success and fun learning at the same time. We also use evaluations and progress reports for families to identify the child’s strengths and areas that we can improve. At only an half-hour, we keep learning tennis fun and inexpensive!

READY TO RALLY(4)

The “Ready to Rally” class teaches children to rally with each other in a semi-competitive, fun environment. This class is recommended for kids who have graduated from the Red Ball class, or are in 4th thru 6th grade and just starting tennis. We use Orange Balls and a medium-sized, 60 foot court to help the kids learn to keep the balls in play with each other. We also introduce the serve because kids 10 years old and younger may play Orange Ball tournaments held by the USTA. We also use evaluations and progress reports for families to identify the child’s strengths and areas that we can improve.

CONSISTENT TO COMPETE(5)

The “Consistent Enough to Compete” class teaches kids to serve, rally, and play competitive points with each other. This class is recommended for kids who have graduated from the Orange Ball class, or are in 7th thru 9th grade and are just starting tennis. We use the Green Balls and full-size tennis court to help transition the kids into our Rally Club, and our Match Play Club. Our goal in this class is to prepare the kids to play tennis on their high school teams when they become freshmen. Some of the kids may also play in USTA tournaments at the Green Ball level. We also use evaluations and progress reports for families to identify the child’s strengths and areas that we can improve.

RALLY/MATCH PLAY CLUB (6)

The “Rally Club” and the “Match Play Club” are non-instructional meeting times that group the kids together to practice.

The “Rally Club” meets on Wednesday’s between 3pm and 6pm, and our staff places kids together and gives them a practice routine. These kids should have either graduated from the Green Ball class, or are participating on their high school tennis team, or are playing USTA junior tournaments at the Green Ball or Challenger level.

The “Match Play Club” meets on Friday’s between 3pm and 6pm, and our staff places the kids together and assigns them an opponent for match play. The kids play singles (and sometimes, doubles) against each other and keep records of their scores. These kids should have either graduated from the Green Ball class and/or the “Rally Club”, or are participating on their high school tennis team, or are playing USTA junior tournaments at the Green Ball or Challenger level.
